"Film depicts the August 1965 trip to the University of the Philippines by Cornell University President James Perkins. The film documents the signing of an agreement between University of the Philippines President Carlos Peña Romulo and Cornell. The agreement with assistance from the Ford Foundation was meant to strengthen the graduate program of the College of Agriculture.
Individuals mentioned in the film include Harry L. Case from the Ford Foundation, from the University of the Philippines College of Agriculture Dioscoro L. Umali, Dean and Dr. Juan F. Jamias, a department Chair. Cornell faculty members Herbert Everett, William Ward, Robert Musgrave and President Perkins’ wife, Jean Perkins are also included.
The film shows a tour of the campus at Los Baños, Perkins giving remarks, the International Rice Research Institute library tour with associate director Colin McLung, various staff and graduate students including Mr. and Mrs. William Jansen and daughter Susan at their housing."
